Hypnosis and Personality Types
How do personality types influence hypnosis? Is it an important factor to consider in the practice of hypnosis? Does knowing one’s personality makes it easy to control a person?
Most people have personality traits that if you are aware, will allow you to interpret your strategy to persuade and influence them through hypnosis.
Here are four listed personality types and what you will find is that most people
are a combination of these types.
Sharks: These are highly motivated type “A” personality. Very competitive, probably money oriented, they work over long hours, do not mess around and can easily get disturb over small things, they can be a fast talker and can walk fast. An example would be a New Yorker. Very fast paced, get things done type of person.
Dolphins: These people just want to have fun and are often the center of attention. They enjoy life to the fullest; so don’t rain on their parade. Probably don’t take things to serious. An example could be someone from California.
Whales: These folks like to help people. They are kind and considerate. They want to make sure things go right. Very slow talker. They can be very predictable and are often dependable, always looking for someone else’s best interest. An example might be someone from the South-Georgia.
Urchins: These are the analytical person. Just want the facts. Analyze everything you say and will say what ever they have in mind, Very skeptical. “I’ll see it before I believe it” type of person. They are also reserve and quiet and are often mistaken as arrogant. This person could be from the Mid West Wisconsin.
Though it is not possible to completely understand the different personality types, knowing the basic types can give you a better understanding of yourself as well as your family and friends. It also gives you an insight on how a person behaves which is very important in establishing rapport and bond in hypnosis.
What you need to do is listen, look and understand where they are, because the sooner you understand where they are coming from the sooner, you can influence them.
